Last week we had a great Homecoming week at CJHS. With the dress up days, we were pretty liberal with the dress code regulations and did not send students to change for violations. Beginning Monday, however, we are back to a regular school week and the dress code will be back in FULL effect.
Remember:
Shorts need to be at knuckle length, all the way around
No holes in jeans or shorts higher than knuckle length
No hats
No undergarments can be showing
No clothing with depictions of alcohol, drugs or violence
No chains or jewelry with spikes may be worn.
If a student violates the dress code, he/she will be offered clothing from our clothing room at CJHS or will be sent home to change or the parent can bring clothing for students to change into. Please check your child for appropriate clothing before he or she leaves the house to avoid interruption of their school day. Thank you!

From FCHS: the motor on the elevator at FCHS had an electrical fire. Students were evacuated and all were safely moved to the gym. FCHS ONLY will be dismissed for the day so we can fleae the smoke. All other schools remain in session.
The CJHS vs Vienna baseball game scheduled for tomorrow will be played at 6:30 in Vienna.

The CJHS Parent Group meeting originally scheduled for tonight has been postponed to next Tuesday, September 15th. We will send out a link to join virtually closer to the date.
The CJHS softball game in Sesser tonight will now have a start time of 4:00pm.
The baseball game originally scheduled for home tonight will now be played in Sesser due to field conditions. The start time will be immediately following softball (approximately 5:30-6)
8th hour CJHS Earth Science students have been learning about determining the age of rocks. They ended the topic by making timelines.
There was a Samsung phone found at the football game on Friday night (8/21). It is in the high school office .
Baseball and Softball games for today, Thursday 8/13, have been cancelled.
Mrs. Goodman's 8th grade Science class learned about determining density through displacement of water today. Theron Snyder checks the water level to report to the class.
Eating school breakfast every day gives students energy for activities, a chance to socialize and will help them do better in school. The CJHS Cafeteria offers a choice of breakfast items each day for a good start to every morning! Encourage your child to take advantage of the free breakfast at Central!

Mrs. Gugle's Literature Enrichment class dives into Problem Based Learning (PBL) to create a picture book to read to younger students.
From FCUSD 168: Busses have just departed FIS/CJHS at 1:18 p.m. to go to FCHS. They should be delivering students shortly as we work through the first day issues. This should smooth out over the next few days. Thanks for your patience in the downpour this morning. It seems that our students had a good day.

From FCUSD 168: Phone Systems remain down after the early morning power outage across town. The computer systems are in operation as we proceed with the school day.
