Congratulations to two of our phenomenal fourth graders who have placed in the Southern Illinois Reading Council Short Story Contest!! Miss Harper Woolard and Miss Anna Slimak have placed FIRST and SECOND respectively in their grade level's competition. Harper and Anna will be honored at an awards ceremony in Carbondale later this month. Way to represent FIS, ladies, we are so proud of you!!

Frankfort Intermediate School's fundraising drive for Z100's Quest for a Million Pennies resulted in a total donation of $2609.57 to St. Jude Children's Hospital!! A huge THANK YOU to all the students at FIS for their generous support and to Mrs. Tanner's 3rd grade class for leading the effort! It's a great day to be a Redbird!!

Today was a big day for Mrs. Ward's 4th graders! Our pen pals from BCHS came for a surprise visit!!!! The squeals and smiles were absolutely precious. I'm not sure who was more excited--the 4th graders, the Juniors and Seniors, or the teachers! They got to play at recess and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Tomorrow is our monthly PBIS celebration at FIS! Wear your favorite team shirt to celebrate! ❤️⚾️🏟️🩶
