From FCUSD 168: The fire alarm went off at Central Junior High School this morning. Students were temporarily moved to FIS. The West Frankfort Fire Department has inspected the scene and declared it all clear. Students are returning to CJHS for their regular school day.
Today was a big day for Ms. Willmore's 5th grade class! Shark Tank Presentation Day! Each group did a wonderful job presenting their inventions to the sharks! They all ended up negotiating a deal! Great job 5th grade! Also a huge thank you to the volunteers that made this project so successful!
Ms. Willmore's Language Spotlight! These students wrote a five paragraph essay completely independently without any assistance! We have grown so much in our writing skills this year! Way to go!!
Here are the top five spellers in 4th grade at FIS!! Our spelling bee was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came to support all of the kiddos this morning!
Ms. Griffith's language classes have been working on writing friendly letters to businesses! Students picked a business that they were fortunate to have in our town and wrote a letter to them. These local businesses will be receiving letters from 6th grade students in the upcoming days.

Ms. Willmore's 5th grade class has kicked off our Shark Tank Project! For the next three weeks groups of students will be creating their own inventions! They will present these inventions to volunteers from the community, and see if they get an offer for their invention!

We will be having our Agriculture Safety Day tomorrow (4/27) at our Vocational Building. We will be having the police and fire department at this event.

We have a home HS boys track meet today that starts at 3:45. We will be recognizing our senior track athletes around 3:30.
We will also be playing Carterville HS in baseball today at 4:30 and our softball team will be playing Carmi today. Both of these games are at home.
