What an awesome conversation I had with the CJHS 2023-24 Parent Group President, Melissa Young-Swan. We have some fun ideas planned for student behavior incentives and for parent involvement. Our first Parent Group meeting will be Thursday, August 17 in the CJHS Library. There will be more information available at registration on Wednesday & Thursday, August 2nd & 3rd. Come and see what lies ahead for 2023-24!

The Administrative Service Center (ASC) be closed on Friday, July 28, 2023, in order to have carpets cleaned. The ASC will re-open on Monday, July 31 at 8 a.m.

Vacancy Notice. CJHS Assistant Baseball Coach

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the 2023-24 Principal of Central Junior High School. My name is Tara Sullivan and I am a lifelong member of the FCUSD 168 School District. I have been Assistant Principal at FCHS for the past 5 years. Prior to that I taught English there for 12 years. I even attended school here from K-12 ( Waaaay back in the 70s and 80s). I have three children who have all attended school in this District and we are all proud REDBIRDS!! I truly cherish the fact that I get to help create graduates from FCUSD 168. I have some exciting things planned for CJHS this school year, including the re-introduction of PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Support), social-emotional growth initiatives, and student character development. I am looking forward to a great 2023-24 school year and shaping the future for the 7th and 8th graders of West Frankfort. Please come and meet me and introduce yourself at our registration event on Wednesday, August 2nd and Thursday, August 3rd from 9am to 2pm in the CJHS cafeteria. I am so excited to help develop a positive learning environment for our students, parents and staff!

We have been told if you are trying to register from a mobile phone or iPad you have to use the TeacherEase app to do so. Sorry. Just found this out.

Students and Parents please be expecting an email from Teacherease today concerning online registration. The email may come from Common Goals. The email will have a link to Teacherease and directions for you to follow to register your students. The online pay function is not yet available. We are hoping it will be available this week. We will send out another notification when that is online. The 26th and 27th registration at the HS you will need to come to school in order to pay your fees, for parking, lockers, buses, and if you are a new student. The online registration process will have you fill out information so your time at the school will be shortened. This is the first time we are doing this. We are expecting there to be issues with this process. Each school will have packets available if there is an issue or if you choose to not registrar online. Denning, Central, and FIS registration will be August 2nd and 3rd. Parents of those students will be able to start the online registration process once they receive an email. If you do not receive an email then you will need to registrar at the school on that date. There will also be an all call after online enrollment starts. Please be patient with us during this process.

We have some Raffle Tickets left in the Unit office if someone is wanting to buy some. $20 a piece and great prizes. We will be drawing the winner at lunch time of the Redbird Scramble this Friday the 28th. Unit office is open from 8 to 2 through Thursday this week! Please Share!

Congrats to Mrs Maureen Hogg on a wonderful career at West Frankfort Schools. Today is her last day at school. Maureen you will be missed by many. You made a difference! Thank you for your wonderful career. Enjoy Retirement and come and visit!

FCHS registration will be July 26th and July 27th. Seniors will be from 9am to 11am and Juniors will be from 1pm to 3pm on the 26th. Sophomores will be from 9am to 11am and Freshman will be from 1pm to 3pm on July 27. Please Share 7/20

Redbird Golf Scramble Raffle Tickets are in. You will be able to purchase them from a HS Redbird Athlete once their coaches pick them up. We will be drawing the winners at the Golf Scramble on July 28th.
