The CJHS Halloween Dance is this Friday, October 12. Students must meet the following criteria to attend:
No failing grades
No more than 2 detentions
No in-school or out of school suspensions
No more than 2 days of absence without a doctor's note.
Tickets must be purchased by Friday at the end of the school day. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Congratulations to Xavier Cuevas and Joan Raby for placing in the top ten at the Junior High Cross Country Regional yesterday. Xavier placed third in the Boys' and Joan placed 8th in the girls' and qualified for the State meet! Way to go Birds!
CJHS would like to announce our Students of the Month for October 2024 - 7th graders Audrey Cremer and Liam Veschusio, and 8th graders Ezra Johns and Jennifer Holland (not pictured). These students are hard workers, kind, and all around great kids! Congratulations!

Ms. McPhail’s 8th grade students learned about how to write a process in detail, using clear descriptions and proper steps. Dustin Isaacs showed the class how to put peanut butter and jelly “on” bread.
Our 8th grade Social Studies class often helps with taking down our flag and folding it daily. Bentley Miller and Layton Kohzadi took their turn in preserving our flags. Mr. Hopkins has taught the class about the proper folding technique and how to properly respect the flag.
ROE #21's Community Prevention Resources program visits CJHS to deliver Health and Prevention lessons to our students weekly. Each month they do a random drawing from our student participants. This month's winner of a McDonald's gift card is 7th grader, Aleigha Squibb!

Yesterday the CJHS Community Service class helped the Frankfort Area Historical Museum clean up their grounds in preparation for their open house on November 2nd.
Our CJHS baseball and softball teams are playing in Carterville tonight for our regional event. Good luck Birds!
